Marianne Starck (1931–2007) was a German-Danish ceramicist and designer, best known for her role as artistic director at Michael Andersen & Søn on the Danish island of Bornholm, starting in 1955. During this period, she left a lasting impression on the company’s style with her graphic decorations, stylized motifs, and experimental glazes. Her work combined traditional craftsmanship with a modern design language, contributing significantly to the renewal of Danish ceramics in the postwar era. Starck’s pieces are now sought-after collectibles, especially her signature relief plates and figures characterized by strong lines and striking contrasts.
