Orivit art nouveau ice bucket

Price: 950.- DKK per item

Height 21 cm, with the handle.

It is marked "Orivit 2319".
Orivit is a mixed metal developed by Rheinische Broncegieserei fur Kleinplastiken, from Cologne, in 1896. It consists of tin, silver, copper and antimony, which means that it may not be used for food today, but may only be used as decoration.

Orivit won several gold and silver medals at the world exhibitions they participated in up to 1905 where they were bought by WMF, which continued production until 1914, when the last items went out of production due to World War I.

The ice bucket is in good condition, with no major wear on the surface. Its handle is unfortunately a little crooked and it has got a dent on the side.
